Verses on God’s Love

Artboard 2 copy 2

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”

1 John 4:8-9

“I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.”

Hosea 14:4

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him.

1 Corinthians 2:9

The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

Psalm 145:20

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

1 John 3:1

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 5:5

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 John 4:16

We love because he first loved us.

1 John 4:19

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Ephesians 2:4-5

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” …

Isaiah 6:1-8

The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Twas the Night Before Jesus Came

Screen Shot 2017-12-24 at 12.39.03 PM

Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house, Not a creature was praying, not one in the house. Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care, In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed, Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head. And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap, Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was The matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here. With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray, I knew in a moment this must be The Day!

The light of His face made me cover my head, It was Jesus! Returning just like He had said. And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth, I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His Hand, Was written the name of every saved man. He spoke not a word as He searched for my name; When He said “It’s not here” My head hung in shame!

The people whose names had been written with love, He gathered to take to His Father above. With those who were ready He rose without a sound, While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and this sealed my fate. I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight; Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear; The coming of Jesus is drawing near. There’s only one life and when comes the last call

We’ll find that the Bible was true after ALL!

It is Finished

coffee dates

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross.

Colossians 2:13-15

Everything you are going through, carrying on your back, or stressing about for the future has been dealt with by Jesus. The anxiety, depression, sickness, hurt, shame, and sorrow has been nailed to the cross and the victory is ours through Jesus Christ! God doesn’t want you to continually live with your trouble. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

What you are struggling with won’t last forever. When the enemy whispers in your ear, “You are going to go through this for the rest of your life. Your depression is part of your DNA. Healing isn’t for you because look at how much you mess up and how weak your faith is. Look at the others getting their prayers answered and God’s not answered yours. You’ve failed him too many times for God to listen to you. You’re the only Christian struggling in this area. You are all alone and no one can relate to what you are going through. You’d be better off gone. God can’t use someone like you.” When you hear these lies whispered into your mind don’t let the devil confuse you into thinking it’s your own thoughts and that it’s all true. Rebuke the enemy in Jesus mighty name. Cast down these evil, untrue, and vile thoughts in the name of Jesus. There is real tangible authority when we use His name. Satan can only operate in your life through lies he leads you to believe and fear he tries to paralyze you with. The battle begins in the mind and the enemy tries to make you believe it and speak those lies into existence to hold whatever he can against you. Speak life into whatever situation you are going through. Say, “I am a child of God, and the joy of the Lord is my strength. Though my flesh and heart may fail God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. No weapon formed against me will prosper because I am covered by the blood of Jesus and ever record against me has been canceled by Jesus on the cross!”

Remind Satan of his place. I have read in the Bible the devils obituary and I know his end. His time is limited and he knows he has but a short time. Although you may be saved he can still try to make you live a defeated life by attacking you with his lies. You are alive in Christ and are seated in heavenly places. He is beneath you. Remember who you are in Jesus, bask in the Father’s love, and let the Holy Spirit fill you with joy today!

God Inspired

Screen Shot 2017-12-11 at 4.30.13 PM

I’m writing a post today I didn’t expect to write. I wanted to first share an interesting spiritual dream I had last night and the process I go through when writing a devotional.

Before I went to sleep last night, I expressed to those close to me that I had been feeling attacked by the enemy and really defeated. I would be fine during the day but once night hit it’s like a wave of darkness would hit and overwhelm me. I would have terrible nightmares that felt so real and lingered in my thoughts throughout the next day. I asked for prayer that night because I believe when you get together with two or more it is done in heaven as it is done on earth. Before I went to sleep I asked to receive a dream from God. I wasn’t specific on what I wanted to dream about but I asked non-the less.

Dream:

In my dream last night, I was in a hotel room with my mom and a friend. There was loud banging noise coming from the hallway and getting closer to our room. The door burst off its hinges and in came a man with a gun. I was thinking he came to rob has and he started yelling at us to get down. I guess we weren’t moving fast enough because he pointed the gun at my arm and fired a shot to indicate he was not messing around. It’s as if the moment happened in slow motion. Once the bullet hit my upper arm my skin started glowing from where the impact should have been and the bullet bounced off. I knew immediately in my spirit that an angel from God had blocked the bullet from hurting me. The man looked shocked and to be honest so did I. He started firing more shots at me and to the others in the room. Every spot on our bodies that the bullets hit started to glow like fire and the bullets bounced off. None of us were being affected by the bullets. The dream ended and woke me up in the middle of the night. I knew in my heart that the future attacks coming against me would ricochet off me like the bullets had in the dream. I felt so blessed to receive this reassuring dream from God and I had a great night sleep for the rest of the night. I woke up feeling inspired to write a devotional.

Devotional:

Usually when I do a devo for “Coffee Dates with Jesus” I choose one verse and center my devotional around that scripture. Today I felt I could really hear God’s voice in my spirit and wrote today’s devo at my kitchen table. When I finished I decided to site all the verses I included in the main body of the paragraph because I only wrote what what was in my mind. It turns out I had 12 verses in all without even realizing it! Sometimes one verse is not enough and God has more to say! I sincerely try to let God take the lead with these devos and only write what He has told me in my spirit. That is why I don’t post one every day or have a scheduled time to post because I want each post to be genuine and God inspired. These are not my inspired words but His alone. Glory to God that He still speaks to us and hears us when we call out to Him! I hope these devotionals encourage you as much as they encourage me. After I finish writing a post I re-read what it says just to enjoy what the Holy Spirit had bottled up inside me. I take no credit for what I write. It’s all from above. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Father! Thank you Holy Spirit! Where would I be without them? Truly blessed.

Devotional will be posted very soon!

Ask & Receive

“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Matthew 18:18-20

Imagine if God were standing right in front of you. What would you say to Him? If you were guaranteed a private audience with the Lord Almighty what would you ask of Him? Knowing that whatever you ask would be given to you with heavenly power behind it. When you pray and gather with two or more people in Jesus name He is there. Did you grasp that? Jesus is literally in your midst! You are able to have a private audience with Jesus Himself! That His Word promises. Yet so many people treat that scripture so lightly. We have been given the authority through Jesus to bind things on earth and in heaven yet how much of that do we really do? We don’t have to worry that our prayers are going to miss the ear of the Lord. He has promised to be there and He is true to His Word. All the more we should be praying together with our friends, family, and even stranger abroad to present our requests to God. We need to bind in heaven and earth what we need. Don’t be afraid to be specific. If you have the ear of Jesus at your beck and call I wouldn’t want to give a general prayer. Instead you should give a specific, on target, and detailed prayer. Sometimes we get this fear that we shouldn’t ask to much of God because it would then make as greedy and unappreciative. If only you knew how much your heavenly Father wanted to give you, you would never stop asking Him for things! “Ask and you shall receive.” (Matthew 7:7) Never will you find a verse that tells you to stop asking, or stop once you’ve gotten a certain amount. God wants you to overflow with blessings, favor, and love. He wants more for you then you want for yourself.

Don’t let fear hold you back from asking God what you need. Stop what you are doing and find someone to pray and agree with you. You no longer need to hold your breath and wonder if your prayers went through. “You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it.” (John 14:14) Stop wondering, and start asking!

If you ever need someone to agree with you in prayer that you don’t have in your life now, then feel free to reach out to me and together we can have a private audience with Jesus for whatever you need! I hope all who read this have a blessed day!

Verses on Asking & Receiving

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:4

At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

1 Kings 3:5

“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Matthew 18:18-20

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Matthew 7:7-11

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

James 4:3

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

John 14:13-14

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” -Jesus

John 16:12-13

If there was one nugget of information you could take away from today’s devo is to never become complacent in your relationship with God. When I say God I mean the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is so much to learn and so much to gain from Him. We think we know so much or sometimes we get so comfortable in our relationship that we don’t allow ourselves to grow further.

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would reveal what is yet to come. He is already in the future ready to help, equip, and empower us for everything we will need. Why wait when you can know now what He has in store? He wants to talk to you more than you want to hear from Him. We complain we can’t hear God’s voice so we pray to hear Him more clearly and just when He is about to talk back to us we stand up after we say ‘Amen’ and go on with our day. We need to be sensitive to God’s voice in our quiet time but we also need to seek Him in His Word.

Two years ago I challenged myself to read the whole Bible from beginning to end. I’m a huge bookworm and can go through books like popcorn. I had read hundreds of books, but not every chapter the Bible had to offer. I read my favorite books and passages of the Bible like most do and skipped over pages I didn’t think applied to me. I could feel God pressing me to read it all from start to finish. My goal was set to read the whole Bible in one year, which I accomplished in eight months. I was so proud of myself and thought that I had deserved a small break from my hard work. God firmly reminded me that I was not done in my learning. I know He told me, “Well done. Now start again.” It’s amazing how you can read the same passage over and over yet every time it is different. You see it from a deeper perspective with a greater insight than before and uncover hidden revelations. You are never done learning and will always find something you never found before when you read the pages of the Bible. We will spend eternity getting to know God better and I for one don’t want to wait a second longer in my journey to learn! Don’t become spiritually complacent or go through the motions because it’s what you’ve always done. I pray God lights a fire in you that never burns out and your eyes will open to the things unseen. We are living in the greatest time in history and not a moment should be wasted!
