Voting Under God

nqxuijfcxz

I pray those who are reading this will have an open mind before continuing. Use heavenly discernment when seeking the truth. This election is not a popular topic, but it is an important one. We have all seen the arguments that erupt when one sides with a candidate. You’re a terrible person if you vote for one and your just as terrible if you vote for the other. I want to have an open honest discussion. You can disagree, that’s fine, but please be open. We are living in dangerous times and things are only getting worse, but I firmly believe God is not done with America.

America is to be a blessing to nations and we have an unfinished assignment on our hands. Each of us have a pivotal role in God’s agenda being accomplished in America and around the world. Your prayers have strategic intercessory impact that can change the course of our nation.

Make no mistake there is a unprecedented warfare going on over this election and I’ll tell you why the enemy has such an interest in this particular area. The enemy wants control of any place or system that has influence. In our culture those places of influence are in church, school, government, media, and business. These places have the power to shape the American narrative and we’ve already seen it’s corruption take place. We lost prayer in our schools, the government has redefined marriage, media is now used as a political machine with one agenda and money makes it all run. The enemy uses people to control these sectors. Where influence is present the enemy will fight to occupy.

Christians have the power to turn the vote in this election if they don’t let deceptive media and popular opinion make the choice for them. I believe the enemy is dispatching spiritually blindness on Christians. America could be on the break of engaging in a prophetic journey and it starts with shaping our nation. What happens if America doesn’t protect it’s own blessing? What happens if we don’t guard it’s own privileges?  What happens if we elect a leader who does not stand with Israel, God’s holy nation? America is here to be a blessing to the world and a blessing to Israel.

There has been an incredible parallel in the scriptures to a certain candidate.

Cyrus.

In the book of Isaiah in chapter 55 you can find the story of Cyrus who was God’s anointed one. God lifts up a man by the name Cyrus who was not a jew but in fact a secular leader. “I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.” (Isaiah 55:4) It goes on to say that the Lord will strengthen him though he has not yet acknowledged him.

Could Trump have the Isaiah 45 Cyrus anointing? It just so happens that the next president will be the 45th president. (Isaiah 45) Just an interesting note.

God can use anyone and especially one he anoints for such a time as this. One candidate is open to the shaping of God. One candidate has said he will stand up for Christian rights and has surrounded himself with evangelical pastors on his advisory board. He has placed more on Christians for shaping America’s changes then any other group.

America was built on biblical principles by our founding fathers. We are the force for freedom and have brought the gospel to the masses. Satan wants to take down what America has stood for and he has been successful in the past. Christians have become so disengaged from culture and elections that we have surrendered territory to the enemy. We are not enough involved. We want to separate ourselves from secular things and think if we pray from a distance it will make a difference. We need to engage our culture and not sit on the sidelines. God has called us to go out into the world, not to stay at home. Just existing in the world doesn’t change the system that has grown, but we have to engage the culture that has turned from God. Uproot what the enemy has planted into America’s soil and dedicate our nation back to God.

Trump spoke in New York to thousands of evangelicals and said a surprising thing. He told them he had been meeting with Christians the past year and said one thing surprised him. There was one thing he noticed consistently when meeting with Christian leaders and that word was fear. He said that Christian leaders were so afraid they would become an adversary to the government and fearful they would come after them. He made a point in saying that any nut in the streets of New York can spout whatever they want except for one category of profession and that’s preachers. He said people who have the Word of God are not allowed to say anything, how did that happen? He proposed that we repeal the Johnson Amendment that puts a gag order on the church and let the church have a voice.

Instead of an eruption of applause there was silence. No shouts of “Amen!” just silence. Not all Christian leaders do this, but there are those out there who do not want controversy or to speak their truth because it would be at the cost of possibly losing members.

Where we are right now is far beyond a battle of politics. It’s not a battle of Republican versus Democrat. We are battling a force much bigger that is aimed to destroy what America stands for and God’s greater purpose. I believe revival is coming and we need our nation back. If we fail to take this seriously as Christians we are arming the enemy with a demonic agenda to destroy our rights and freedoms.

Statistics show there are about 60,000,000 Christians in America and only 30,000,000 vote. Imagine the outcome the church could make on this election. Bush won his presidency by the Florida vote of 500. Think about what would’ve happened if those people stayed home. Every vote counts, especially yours. If you haven’t already participated in early voting I strongly encourage you to vote November 8th! If you are still conflicted in your choice please seek the answer in prayer and ask for God’s guidance and discernment.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, than I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Halloween: A Day to Celebrate?

04ldeyrw59

Fall is in the air, leaves are turning shades of gold and red. The smell of pumpkin spice fills the chilly air that makes you want to put on a comfy flannel. If you get in your car and drive down the neighborhood as leaves fall to the ground, you can see houses decorated with spider webs, skeletons, and tomb stones. October is coming to an end and the 31st is coming upon us within hours.

As this day approaches I’m conflicted with mixed emotions. I know how I feel about this day of the year and also realize I’m in the minority on how I feel. I thought to myself let the day pass and allow what it is to quickly go by. Just silently ignore it. Today I can no longer do that.

I feel God has put it on my heart to share my thoughts on what this day, Halloween, represents.

Darkness.

Evil.

Spirits.

Witches.

Skulls.

Take no part in unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:11)

Isn’t it just a day of fun? A time to dress up, eat candy, watch scary movies? For some it may be. I know in the past I’ve celebrated Halloween, gone to haunted houses, went to dress up parties, and watched scary movies.

A few years back as I was developing my relationship with Jesus day by day I came to a better understanding about this day in October. It is not just any ordinary day. It’s what’s represented on this day that no longer sat right with me. The closer I got to God the more it made sense.

God tells us to not conform to the patterns of this world. (Rom. 12:2) Halloween is a day the world created and a day evil and darkness is celebrated. We are told in scripture to set our minds on things above, not on things of the earth. (Colossians 3:1-2)

Why do we seek fear? The thrill of haunted houses and scary movies that makes you jump in fright but the high it also gives?

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

Fear should not be sought after or played with. We are at war with the enemy. We make it so easy for him by allowing the door to be opened. A demon can go anywhere sin can go. The enemy first enters through the mind gate. Movies, tv shows, books, and music. Entertainment and imagination is the back door of the mind that they enemy so cleverly enters. Make no mistake the battle is in the mind and in your thought life. As man thinks he is, so he is. (Proverbs 23:7) If you can capture a person’s mind, you can then capture their heart. God tells us in His word to guard our hearts for everything we do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23)

The enemy is working overtime. He plans, waits, and entraps us. There are things happening in the spirit realm that we have no knowledge of. It’s why it is so important to go into your day with God’s presence so you don’t fall into the traps laid out for you in the day.

Let me show you an example in the Bible where the enemy was working in the spirit realm to take down the King of Israel and was ultimately given permission by God to do this because the king ignored the prophet God had sent to warn him. In 1 King chapter 22 the king of Israel wants to go to war and asks king Jehoshaphat to fight alongside him. Jehoshaphat wants to first seek the counsel of the Lord before going to war. The king of Israel brings his 400 prophets that only prophecy good for him instead of truth. Jehoshaphat asks for a prophet of the Lord. The king of Israel says there is one but he never prophecies good things of him. He is brought forth anyway and the name of the prophet of the Lord was Micaiah. Micaiah tells them that he saw the Lord sitting on His throne. A spirit came before the Lord and said he would be a lying spirit in the mouths of his prophets. The Lord said to the spirit that he would succeed in enticing him and sent him out. The Lord had decreed disaster upon him and even spoke of the king’s death if he went to war. The king puts Micaiah in prison and goes to war anyway. The king of Israel disguises himself in battle instead of wearing the king’s garments. A soldier draws an arrow at random and it hits the king of Israel killing him. This story shows us what the enemy set out to do. God warns the king through a prophet and the king of Israel still ignores him which leads to his death and destruction.

How many of us ignore what God tells us to do in our hearts? How many times do we think we know best, and if only we had listened to God and obeyed His words we would not be in the terrible situation we placed ourselves in.

Another example is from when I was in my second year of college at a Christian university. I went out with a friend on a Saturday night to a house party. When we arrived at the house all our friends were there as we walked in. The second we stepped in the threshold of the house we both felt that something was off. There were people from school drinking, but that wasn’t what gave us an uneasy feeling. We had been in these kind of environments before and never felt this way. We didn’t drink, but we still wanted to stay and visit. We ended up giving rides to people who had been drinking back to campus. Both of us couldn’t shake the feeling even when we left. The next morning my friend came to my room early to tell me a crazy dream she had that night. She said that she was back in the house and saw floating spirits hovering over people’s drinking. She said when they took a sip the spirits went inside them. She was so troubled by her dream and thought it was weird as did I. A few days pass and I’m talking to someone who knew about that party I went to. They told me the person who owned the house was a Satanist. I was in shock. Suddenly it all made sense. That was why we felt so weird when we entered the house. I’m now in a place in my relationship with God that I know now it had been spiritual discernment. We could feel a different presence but couldn’t point it out. I thank God till this day I didn’t drink anything from that party. The point of this story is we don’t know everything that goes on in the spirit realm. The attacks the enemy has waiting for us. He is so crafty and skilled in this area. We must put on the full armor of God to withstand the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11)

My concern for others is that the day comes where we are so desensitized to our surroundings. By the books we read, movies we watch, and the music we listen to numbs us so much that we can no longer recognize the evil staring us in the face. When the evil that is so cleverly hidden comes out in plain sight and we can no longer recognize him for what he is because we have allowed the door to be opened. Don’t let this day sneak upon you. Instead use discernment which the Holy Spirit will give to you when you ask.

What does Gods character represent? Love, just, mercy, goodness, purity, righteousness, and on and on.

What does Halloween represent? Fear, evil, ghosts, spirits, darkness, and on and on.

Does this day of the year align with Christ and his plan for us? Or is it another day of the world that the devil himself uses to entice us and provide a thrill that ultimately kills.

I ask and pray that you seek the answer from God of choosing to celebrate this day or not. I leave it between you and Him.

Pray for the wisdom:

“Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare to her.” (Proverbs 3:13-15) Did you read that? Nothing we desire can compare to the wisdom God provides.

The decision is not always easy, especially when all your friends celebrate it and make fun of you for your choice to not participate. For it is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. (1 Peter 3:13-17)

Therefore, go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you. (2 Cor. 6:17)

On October 31st I will be celebrating an early Christmas decorating party with my family as has been our tradition for the past three years. While I know some can’t stand when people celebrate the next holiday so early that’s fine too. You can instead put on worship music and praise God! Go about your day as if it’s any other day.

I pray peace in your lives and that every day you grow more in knowledge and wisdom of things above. That your minds will be filled with pure thoughts and scripture. Cast out evil thoughts and imaginations in the name of Jesus. I pray that no weapon formed against you will prosper because you are covered by the powerful blood of Jesus. Walk in victory that Christ Jesus gave to you by His grace and love. Go in peace. Amen!

Subtle Temptations

fnhsjbo9pa

Satan tempts us at the point of our physical needs, not that we might gratify them to excess, but that we might think of nothing else, and satisfy them at the expense of our usefulness in this world.

Satan tempts us at the point of our ambitions, not that we might engage in positive evil, but that we might simply accept the fact of evil, learn to live with it, come to terms with it, and maintain a quiet reverence in the presence of it.

Satan tempts us at the point of our religion, not that we might disbelieve in God, but that we might demand certainty, that type of certainty of God that leaves nothing to faith, nothing to God himself.

These are the moral struggles that have reality for people such as we are. The subtle temptation to renounce our duty in favor of what is attractive, that insidious allurement to a kind of half-goodness which is the essence of everything bad and which is more productive of suffering and hatred, war and misery in this world than all the designs of wicked and greedy people combined.

When God Created Woman

6ub9f6e2ht

When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day…….

An angel came by and asked. “Why spend so much time on her?”

The Lord answered. “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?”

“She must function on all kinds of situations,

She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time,

Have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart,

She must do all this with only two hands,

She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day.”

The angel was impressed. “Just two hands…..impossible!”

“And this is the standard model?”

The Angel came closer and touched the woman

“But you have made her so soft, Lord”.

“She is soft”, said the Lord.

“But I have made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome.”

“Can she think?” The Angel asked…

The Lord answered. “Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate.”

The Angel touched her cheeks….

“Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her.”

“She is not leaking…it is a tear.” The Lord corrected the Angel…

“What’s it for?” Asked the Angel…..

The Lord said. “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride.”…

This made a big impression on the Angel,

“Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything.”

“A woman is indeed marvelous.” Lord said.

“Indeed she is.

She has strength that amazes a man.

She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.

She holds happiness, love and opinions.

She smiles when she feels like screaming.

She sings when she feels like crying, cries when happy and laughs when afraid.

She fights for what she believes in.

Her love is unconditional.

Her heart is broken when a next-of-kin or a friend dies but she finds strength to get on with life.”

The Angel asked: “So she is a perfect being?”

The Lord replied: No. She has just one drawback,

“She often forgets what she is worth.”

My Sin

A Prayer by Michael Quoist (a French cleric)

I have fallen, Lord, once more. I can’t go on and I’ll never succeed. I’m ashamed and I don’t dare look at you. And yet I’ve struggled Lord, for I knew you were right near me bending over me, watching. But temptation blew in like a hurricane and, instead of looking at you, I turned my head away and stepped aside while you stood silent and sorrowful, like the squirmed fiance who sees his loved one carried off by his rival.

When the wind had died down as suddenly as it had arisen, when the lightening ceased after proudly streaking the darkness, all of a sudden I found myself alone, ashamed, disgusted with my sin in my hands. This sin that I selected, as a customer selects his purchase. This sin that I paid for but cannot return, for the store keeper is no longer there. This tasteless sin, this odious sin, this sin that now sickens me, which I once wanted, but I want no more. That I imagined, sought, played with, fondled for a long time, that I finally embraced by passing you.

My arms outstretched, my eyes and heart irresistibly drawn, this sin that I’ve grasped and consumed with a gluttony. It’s mine now, Lord, but it possesses me as a spider web holds captive the fly. It’s mine and sticks to me. It flows in my veins and fills my heart. It has slipped in everywhere, as darkness slips into the forest at dusk and fills all the patches of light. Lord, I can’t seem to get rid of it. I run from it like the master of an unwanted and mangy dog. But it catches up with me and rubs joyfully against my legs. Everyone must notice it. I’m so ashamed that I feel like crawling to avoid being seen. I’m ashamed of being seen by my friends, Lord. I’m ashamed of being seen by you, for you loved me and I forgot you. I forgot you because I was thinking only of myself, and one can’t think of several persons at once; one must choose and I chose.

And now, Lord, your voice, your look, and your love hurt me. They weigh me down more than my sin. Lord, please don’t look at me like that, I’m naked and dirty, down and shattered with no strength left, and I dare not make any more promises. I can only stand bowed before you, Lord.

Come on, son, look up. Isn’t it mainly your vanity that has ruined it? If you loved me you would grieve, but you would trust. Do you think there’s a limit to God’s love? Do you think for a moment I have stopped loving you? But you still rely on yourself, son, you must rely on me. Ask my pardon and get up quickly. You see, it’s not falling that is the worst, but staying on the ground.

My Father is…

Quoting scripture out loud to the enemy is always going to give you victory. If Jesus quoted scripture to the devil when he was tempted, shouldn’t we? But in order to quote scripture you have to know it. Have a verse to meditate on and memorize everyday. That way you can bring it up at a moments notice when the enemy tries to attack you with his lies. Here are a couple of scriptures that I love to say out loud when I feel attacked:

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Psalm 56:3-4

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!”

Psalm 91:1-2

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Romans 8:18

screen20shot202016-03-1220at2011-39-2220am_zpsx0uwon1a1

I use to feel like I had to keep things to myself. I didn’t want others to worry and I thought I could work it out between me and God alone. Not to say you can’t, but there is a mighty power associated with coming together in prayer.

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

Matthew 18:19-20

When I came to my family about what I was going through they prayed over me and it made the biggest difference in my life. A change happened that I couldn’t seem to make on my own. If you can’t go to your family then find a trusted friend or mentor and ask them to pray with you. When you pray with someone over a dark area in your life, by bringing someone else in you are actually shedding light into that dark place. That person can now hold you accountable and help you in the future with their prayers.

Therefore, confess your sin to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

James 5:16

screen20shot202016-03-1220at2011-39-5220am_zps2kzd6wut

I can’t say enough just how important this is. The Holy Spirit was sent to abide with us forever. Jesus even said that it was better for him to leave so that the Holy Spirit could come. (John 16:7) He can relinquish power and help you in your Christian walk. He is a friend and comforter in times of trouble. Here are some verses on praying in the spirit:

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Romans 8:26-27

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.

1 Corinthians 14:14-15

For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 14:2

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Matthew 26:41

There is power in the name of Jesus. Especially during a spiritual attack. I know this because of my own experience. If you want to read more on my testimony and how saying His name saved me during an attack then click Here, or find the article titled, Power in the Name of Jesus.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Proverbs 18:10

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

This is a direct outline of Ravi’s Youtube video. Ravi Zacharias has a way with his words in explaining God’s supreme love and why there is suffering. If you want to know more on the subject I recommend his book: Why Suffering? He gives an intellectual and knowledgeable explanation to the questions many of us have. Believers and non-believers.

The supreme ethic that God has given to us is the ethic of love. It is the peak of all emotional and intellectual alinement. This thing we call love, which places value upon the other person. And is something to be protected.

You cannot have love without weaving in the freedom of the will. If you are compelled by some machine to do a certain decision, you can never love. You can comply, but you will never be choosing to express that sentiment and the reality of love.

If love is a supreme ethic and freedom is indispensable to love, and God’s supreme goal for you and for me is that we will love him with all of our hearts and love our neighbors, for him to violate our free will would be to violate that which is a necessary component so that love can flourish and love can be expressed.

If you are asking for God to always stop the trigger, why not God stop everything else? Every time you hold a cup of boiling water he turns it to frozen water. Next time you are about to cross the street and you’re going to be hit, he pulls your leg back.

What you’re asking for is a different entity than humanity. As wonderful as it may seem that in stopping that you think he is protecting you from that which is destructive, the greatest denial for which you are asking for is the freedom of your will, to be able to choose and love God with all your heart and all your soul.

You’ve got love as a supreme ethic and the freedom of the will to choose that love all of the other contingencies come in and can become explained why it is possible to either choose or to reject so that love an ultimately reign supreme.

If you want compliance and some kind of mechanical response your question itself will self destruct. You’re asking the question because you are free to ask it.  And you are free to ask it because you are free to love. And when you love Him in-spite of all that you see around you , you are trusting him for having the supreme wisdom and the knowledge to ultimately bring a pattern out of it all.

We think for example we know so much.

This story was once told of a man who lost his horse and ran away, and when the horse an away the neighbor came over and said, you know bad luck isn’t it? Your horse is gone. He said what do I know about these things. Few days later the horse came back with 20 other wild horses and the neighbor came back and said amazing it’s it? It’s not bad luck its good luck. You’ve got 20 more. The man says what do I know about these things. His young son is going and taming one of the young horses. That young horse kicks him and breaks his leg. The neighbor comes and says terrible isn’t it? You’re son’s leg is broken bad luck these horses came. The father says what do I know about good luck and bad luck? Few days go by and a bunch of thugs are coming looking for recruits to join their gang. They’re looking for all the bodily able young men. And they are about to pick this young man but find out his leg is broken and they say we don’t want him, we are going to move on to the next house. The man comes and says good luck isn’t it that your son’s leg was broken?

In one little series of episodes we don’t know what lies ahead. Why don’t you wait til you stand before God face to face and you will find out that there were reasons he didn’t stop that trigger so that you will see the heinousness of evil and see the majesty of love and good.

Unshakable Faith

When your faith is tested and you are going through a rough time, whom are you going to look at to meet your needs? I will share with you what could be going on in the spirit realm while you wait on the Lord.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24

What beautiful words. Present your requests and prayers to God. All He requires is that you believe and have faith and it will be yours.

But…

Have you ever felt that maybe a prayer was unheard or just unanswered?

Have you ever felt tormented by the enemy or by life itself and asked God for relief with seemingly no response?

I think at some point we have all been there. And though we know the Lord is a good and faithful God we can feel alone and unheard at times.

My experience forever changed my perspective on praying and having my prayers answered.

This summer I have spent more time than ever in my life developing a deeper intimacy with Christ and the Holy Spirit. By changing some areas in my life I believe this angered the enemy greatly. The closer you want to get to God, the more the enemy wants to tear you away from him. The enemy can try, but he doesn’t have that kind of power. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

I soon would experience a rough period of testing and attacks from the enemy. My faith and trust was tested the most.

I was plagued by horrible nightmares.

One night specifically I prayed aloud that I would have peaceful dreams and rest.  That night I had experienced one of the worst nightmares I had ever experienced in my life. I mean the worst dream you could ever imagine. It left me very confused and angered. I prayed a specific prayer that I don’t always pray and had it completely thrown back in my face.

It was clearly an attack on the enemy, but why? Why could he attack my dreams when I specially prayed to God to have good pure dreams?

I spoke with my mom on the subject and she advised me to pray quietly in my mind. The enemy can hear the words we say and the prayers as well. That’s why it’s so important to speak life giving words and not negative oppressing words over ourselves.

I listened to her advise and that night I prayed in my mind that I would have no nightmares and dream peacefully. The night I had another nightmare.

It appeared my prayers were not being answered.

I wasn’t ready to doubt God yet. I prayed continually every single night and every night I had horrible nightmares that made me feel restless during the day and weary at night. I personally like to wake up early in the morning to start my day, and I was sleeping in every day because of these nightmares. They made me physically and mentally exhausted.

Even though I didn’t understand why this was happening I continued to pray. Many nights had passed and still I was having nightmares.

One morning I awoke in a cold sweat from a very violent and disturbing dream. That morning I had enough. I was so sick and tired. Angry and beyond frustrated. Why was this continuing?

Was I doing something wrong? Had I left an open door in my life that was allowing these dreams?

I begged and pleaded with God to tell me why this was happening because I couldn’t take another sleepless night like this again.

I asked for him to reveal to me why this was happening.

Then out of nowhere a thought appeared in my mind. It was the story of Job. A man in the bible who was blameless and upright. He feared the Lord and shunned evil.

The the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. (Job 1:8-12)

The story goes on to the many trails of Job. He was righteous in his own eyes he repented and the Lord forgave him. He also blessed him more then what he originally had.

The point I want to make from this story is I imagined in my mind an evil spirit going to the Lord and saying something like this, “Let me throw fiery darts at her dreams and disrupt her sleep. Watch and see that she will lose her faith in you and truly curse you.”

Then I’d imagine God saying something like this, “You don’t know my daughter like I do. She is a good and faithful servant and I have faith in her.”

When I imagined this in my mind it brought me to tears. I announced out loud, “I do not doubt my faithful God. I know he hears my prayers and will deliver me.”

I wanted to let the enemy know that I trusted God despite my circumstances. I praised God and his holy name and gave him thanks.

That night I had the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. The nightmares stopped completely and my life went on like it always had.

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

James 1:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

 Hebrews 11:6

I want you to know that every prayer you pray is heard, but most importantly is the faith you put behind it. It is impossible to please God without your faith. If you struggle in this area and are not good at putting your trust in the Lord then pray for it. Pray for what you need, and you will receive it.

You must believe and have faith.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

When the enemy comes against you and is trying to steal your joy and faith, I want you to have a thought like this:

Imagine an evil spirit telling God that you will surely curse him when your prayer is not answered at your own preferable timing. Doesn’t that make you want to believe and have even more faith? Doesn’t that make you want to make God proud and for him to call you good and faithful servant?

God is never absent, always present. The enemy wants to tear down your faith in God and make you doubt him in hard times. Don’t let the enemy have victory in your life. God sent his son so that we can live victoriously. There is power in the name of Jesus. The Holy Spirit was sent to lead us into all truth. There is power available to every believer. Don’t live this life powerless and defeated. Live the way God always intended!

Be faithful in the Almighty and you can never fail!
