Courage

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with
you wherever you go."

Joshua 1:9
"With your help I can advance against a troop with my God I can scale
a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless;
he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the
Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with
strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of
a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights."

Psalm 18:29-33
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your
God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my
righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10

5 Verses on Anger

screen20shot202016-03-1220at201-12-0620pm_zpsgawdyr67

1. The wise are not easily angered.

People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

Proverbs 14:29

2. Anger produces unrighteousness.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.

James 1:19-20

3. Harsh words stir up anger.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Proverbs 15:1

4. Do not associate with a hot-tempered person.

Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.

Proverbs 22:24-25

5. Do not go to sleep angry, giving the devil a foothold over you.

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Ephesians 4:26

Contentment

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust
destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys
and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure
is, there your heart will be also."

Matthew 6:19-21
"Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in
whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low,
and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have
learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Philippians 4:11-13
"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and
love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the
other. You cannot serve God and money."

Matthew 6:24
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all
these things will be added to you."

Matthew 6:33
"Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure
with trouble. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a
fatted calf with hatred."

Proverbs 15:16-17
"Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who
is crooked in his ways."

Proverbs 28:6
"How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than
silver! The highway of the upright avoids evil, those who guard their
ways preserve their lives."

Proverbs 16:16-17

Verses dealing with Anxiety

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you
will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will
put on. Is not your life more than food, and the body more than
clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you
not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add
a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about
clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they
neither toil nor spin."

Matthew 6:25-34
"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be
anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Matthew 6:34
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God
what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will
experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His
peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6-7
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at
the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him,
because he cares for you."

1 Peter 5:6-7
"Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word makes it
glad."

Proverbs 12:25

1 Peter 1:13
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear bit of power and love and
self-control."

2 Timothy 1:7
"A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left
without walls."

Proverbs 25:28
"A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds
it back."

Proverbs 29:11
"A gossip goes around telling secrets, so don’t hang around with
chatterers."

Proverbs 20:19
"But the fruit of the Spirit is… gentleness, self-control."

Galatians 5:22-23
"For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your
faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with
self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness
with godliness."

2 Peter 1:5-6
"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live
self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age."

Titus 2:11-12
"… while we wait for the blessed hope- the appearing of the glory of
our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to
redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that
are his very own, eager to do what is good."

Titus 2:13-14
"My dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know
that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

1 Corinthians 15:58
